I have tried to edit a Civ by overwriting the Barbarian Civ... and the game will not run.

1. Do I have to overwrite one of the 16 Civs to have my own Civ? Can I choose the picture/portrait of my Civ?

2. When I edit the buildings (libraries and universities lessen corruption), does this apply to ALL Civs?

3. Do I have to state/choose which units belong to my Civ, or is this automatic?

4. How come Bombing runs sometimes fail? I had a carrier full of bombers once, and had all bombers bomb a city... all failed. Why is this so?

5. What advantage has Precision Strike have over Bombing?

Thanks for the help!:king:

You don't want to use the barbarian civ to create a new civ, as that civ is used for those barbarian camps and I believe therefore has unique attributes. I am not sure on the current status of mods, but overwriting another civ is a valid option. And changing teh pictures is a simple matter of just changing the graphic files. But head over to the mod board to get the tools and tutorials.

The change will apply to every one

For units, one of the list boxes list who can build them. Just make sure your civ is listed. This is really only necessary if you add units. or want civ's to be able to build the non UU in addition to their UU.

Bombing is just a probability of getting a hit. So you just got bad "die rolls". In another game I have rolled 12 dies before needing only 4's or less to get hits and got only 5's and 6's (boy did that hurt).

To edit the barbarians uncheck the barbians box above city names.

Building changes are universal

Uncheck the unit your UU replaces, or if you want to have both, leave it checked

Bombing probability is randomly determined, to represent misses. You just got a bad roll.

Prescision bombing allows you to target specific units, buildings, or population in a city. HOwever it only works after the patch.
