Hello, everyone. This is my first topic, and in it, I'd like to ask for some technical help. I need help to locate the editor. I have a Windows 7 laptop I got for Christmas '09 and play Civ3 on it (GOTM edition). I learned recently there is an editor for Civ3, and decided to look for it. I go to the Computer window (like My Computer), right-click on the Civ3 icon with the disk in, and click "Open" from the menu. Looking around (carefully so nothing gets deleted), I locate the digital version of the manual (good since I lost the real one), but I can't find the editor! Which file on the Civ3 disk should I look under?

It'll actually be installed to your hard drive, assuming Civ is already installed. Just go to your Start menu, go to the Infogrames Interactive folder, Civilization III within that folder, the Civ3Edit folder within there, and then the Civ3Edit application. Or, if that doesn't locate it, search for Civ3Edit under the Windows 7 Start Menu Search. It may be in a slightly different location, as I'm not sure Infogrames released the game everywhere.

As a side note, the editor is kind of limited in the vanilla version. If you find you enjoy playing around with it, you may want to consider buying either the Conquests expansion (which includes the Play the World expansion), or the Complete version (which includes the base game and both expansions). Its editor is considerably more powerful.
