Couple of things I wonder about when I play CivIII...

a) Where has Elvis gone? Come back, all is forgiven!

b) Where do Workers get their electric bass guitars from, even in 4000BC? Does every civ start off with The Funk as a basic tech? (Actually, that would be a good tech for a mod - makes everyone in every city happy, but no production...)

Check out the screenshot. It's 4000BC, and the Worker is slapping up some multifunkalistic boptalicious goodness on da Plains, causing freaky groove-rays of fine boogieness to emanate in all directions.

Why is the Settler walking away? Has his brain been fried by his booty, or is he shaking his rhythm-stick, grooving off with a glide in his stride to found Funkopolis?

Is this why Workers take so long to do things? Too busy receiving superfunktastic spacebass-line transmissions from the Mothership?

You must be quite bored to come up with that, but I do see what you are talking about.

Wow, imaginative.

I actually completely forgot that Elvis was in Civ II, lol

That's actually quite funny, I always wondered who made the workers look so much like they had guitars. It certainly does not look like a shovel. Having some experience with shovels, you would almost never carry one like that. It very much resembles a guitarist. I had an unbiased observer look at a 400% zoomed picture of our worker and asked him what the guy was doing. His response was "playing a fender stratocaster". It is probably an accident of pixels, but it sure doesn't resemble a guy with a shovel.

Huh? We must be running out of interesting topics... ;)

Re: Elvis. Set your PC clock to Elvis' birthday and play a game with 'king units' (PTW or C3C) and you'll be able to watch the King and his fried banana sandwiches!

Sid Meier told me IT'S ALWAYS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE A SHOVEL. Don't tell me nonsense about how Jeff Briggs designed the game instead of Sid now.

Spoonwood, for your insistence that "It's a shovel"....

.... "It's STILL a shovel"....

you win a free beer or two from me anytime you might be in Glasgow, for making me laugh so well...!

Glad that you got my sense of humor!

Mayde it's a swiss-army shovel with a fold-out machete and pickaxe, that's why it looks like no ordinary shovel.

Well, no one really digs roads with guitars. You can kinda infer that it is a shovel.

In my upcoming mod "CCM" Elvis is in:

And he gives culture - a lot of culture to a civ:

How did you do that?

How did you do that?
Modmakers do the craziest things, and Civinator also has the dedicated mind to make all these crazy things into an accessible and playable mod.
CCM is not yet out, but I recommend you look out for it. You can also look in the Creation and Customization to see what other modmakers are up to. Civinator is one of the few modders who also posts in this section of the forum, but many others are only exclusively showing their work in their own section of the forums. So go there for a visit!
