Emperor of the Fading Suns - anyone play this great old game?

Has anyone played this brilliant old Colonization/Master of Orion hybrid developed by Holistic Design and released in 1996? It had some very interesting concepts, conquering different planets, engaging in diplomacy with other dune-esque great houses, keeping the evil alien horde of symbiots at bay while trying to stay on good terms with the intelligent Vau race and researching forbidden technologies and preventing the universal church from branding you a heretic and invading your planets. Yes, it was a great game in its day that never caught on, but the Other Games forum would be more appropriate.
