I think we can all agree that most wonders are not particulary powerful in CIV:BE. Considering that many of them are placed in dead-end Leaf Techs that offer nothing else, I have increased the overall power level of wonders quite a bit. In return, all mid and late tier game wonders now require Geothermal ressources.

Love the changes, especially with the Crawler added to the concept of geothermal costs being more common. However I think the geothermal costs are too low, most of your costs could be increased by 1 to make what wonders you choose to pursue more meaningful.
 
Yeah, increasing them for some (but not all) would be worth doing. And make Crawler +6 instead of +4.

In the previous game that I won, I had 23 geothermal. In the game before that, I had 5.
 
I didn't want to make the cost too step for the first release, considering that the amount of Geothermal varies quite a bit. A later increase is, however, certainly possible.
 
Will the AI handle this intelligently? Or will it just plop down the first set of wonders it finds, effectively ending the "Wonders Race"?
 
This fixes one of the biggest issues I have seen with this game. However, I cannot use the internet at my house (at a friends).

Anyone know where to download a copy without dealing with steam, they won't let me download the mod directly so I can install it myself, and I would really like this mod too...

Really hope this isn't violating any rules but this is a great mod and I'd hate for you to miss out.
 
Testing this out with three other basic balance and ui mods. Appreciate your early effort. Will try to sell my friends on it.
 
IMPROVEMENT_NODE needs some attention.
Actually that is strange that it adding energy (building-size server better to be add some science).
IMPROVEMENT_FACTORY can use some wonder, that negates it's unhealth effects.

Your idea of reqiurement resource is nice in general, but looks weird when genetical_wonders (promethean, daedalus, ressurection) need geothermal.
Can you add new resources? I would like to see some genetic resource (rare genes or smth.), maybe based on worm_skeleton graphics.
 
I've been using this mod both before and after game version 1.0.1.607. The ARCHIMEDES LEVER: "added 1 YIELD_PRODUCTION and 1 YIELD_SCIENCE for IMPROVEMENT_MINE" portion does not work, nor does the DAEDALUS_LADDER: "Added free BUILDINGCLASS_BUILDING_AUGMENTERY" portion work.
