Wish Firaxis would include Era game option in the next iteration.
Basically, same max number of available game turns as in regular game but the game lasting only one (historical Era) of human civilization.
Each Era includes only the nations/tribes historically in existence, and prominent during at least a part of each era.
This way no America in classical era, or Babylon in Renaissance.
Similar to some of the scenarios in the past games, however, dividing the eras into more turns and including more civs-nations/techs/buildings/wonders/units of each era would make such an option real fun to play for the likes of myself.
I find that I breeze through the ancient and classical eras way too fast in a standard civ game, hardly get a chance to engage in warfare in ancient/classical eras (other than with barbarians), techs are acquired too quickly to build and make proper use of all the (generic) units and buildings available in the game before some of them become obsolete.
Such single era-immersion game would be far more detailed, and if done properly by the developers, no doubt very popular among players.
