Error in new win 7 Cannot Find MSVCR71.dll

I just loaded Win 7, It ran very well under Vista but I get the following error when doulbe clicking the shortcut:Cannot find MSVcr71.dll". I have changed the setting to run as service pack two of XP and also in aministrator mode. One other variable is that I wanted to upgrade to Gold, so I downloaded it all from direct to drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

simple download the missing DLL file (like from here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr71 ) and copy it into your Civ-Folder.

be also sure, to install DX9 on Win7 (works fine with DX10):
