error message

I got a error that said this:"text\Pedialcons.tet":ICON_BLDC_Theater on a download for this awsome cold war sim. anyways i downloaded a free download manager and redownloaded the file, it didnt work. I got civilization complete and its 1-2 years old. Am i missing a graphics file? this error never happened before and it happens when i try to open the map to start a game on it and this pops up and Xed me out of the game.
Someone help me...

If anyone knows the answer this this problem, maybe they know the answer to mine... I'm new to making custom scenarios. I keep getting this error when trying to play the scenario: "Error Reading File / Missing entry in "Scenarios/.../conquests/Mesoamerica/text/Pedialcons.txt." :AMIMNAME_ / The game will now exit." I kinda get what that means, but have no idea what to do about it. HELP!!!

Welcome to CFC.

"Scenarios/.../conquests/Mesoamerica/text/Pedialcons.txt." :ANIMNAME_ "means, that at least one of your entries in the units sector of the file pediaicons in the Mesoamerica conquest is wrong. This can be a spelling error as I marked one in your last post here, mostly I get this error if I didn´t add the _PRTO_ to a newly added unit in that sector, it can be that you added a space to a new unit entry or that you did a "-" connection instead of a "_" or that you simply didn´t do an entry in that file for a newly added unit.The section is at the end of the pediaicons file. You have to check here about the mistake.

BTW.: I have read your article in the civ 4 forums. We have hot debats about these problems in a thread "Why Civ 3 players don´t move on to Civ 4" in the same Civ 4 forum you posted your article.

The problem you have, appears in another section of the pediaicons file of that scenario and mostly has its reason in a missing file in the pediaicons/buildings-folder or a wrong entry in the pediaicons-file. You can do a wordpad search in that file to see what should be the correct names for the large and small pediaicons/buildings graphics the Theater-building of that scenario. Than you can copy another .large or .small file of the pediaicons/buildings, rename it to the name of the missing file and copy it in the pediaicons/buildings-folder of that scenario.

Best way to get help for this problems is to post it in the thread of that scenario you have downloaded as such a problem should have happened to more civers that did download that scenario.
