Error messages with Steam achievements?

I've tried to do some searching on the forums to answer this but haven't had much luck. I hope this is the right place.

First, I'm playing Civ V with all of the DLCs and Gods & Kings and the most recent patch installed. I was checking the debug file where all of the Steam achievements are located (C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Logs\achievements_debug.txt in my case), and came across 16 different achievements I hadn't seen before, all with error messages about how they couldn't be retrieved. They're not being counted in my total available achievements on Steam. This is from the debug file:

But, according to Steam: "You have unlocked 129/227 (57%)"

Anybody know what gives? Is this a known issue that I managed to completely miss? If so, apologies to the mods.

Those were at some point (before release even) in the game but then removed because they were stupid or didn't work. And these errors in the log are just some meaningless remains.
