Every time I try to load the mod, I get an error saying there was a problem loading MLF_Civ4ModularLoadingControls.xml. If I click okay, the game loads up about halfway, and then I get a bunch of other xml errors that keep me from getting into the game.

I've searched for the MLF file, and it doesn't seem to exist on my computer. I've tried reinstalling Civ and RoM a few times from scratch, and it doesn't fix the problem. Does anybody know what the deal might be? I'd appreciate any help, because I really want to play.

The MLF files are part of the modular file system and found in the Assets/Modules folder. It controls which modules are loaded and the order they are loaded. Without it the modules (folders) are loaded in alphabetical which is why you are getting the XML errors.

Attached are the two MLF files from RoM 2.92. Extract them into the Assets/Modules folder.

i have the same problem but seem unable to find the right folder can you tell me more precisely

On my machine the MLF files are in folder is 'c:/Program Files/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword/Mods/Rise of Mankind/Assets/Modules' and most of the subfolders under this.

Having this type of error usually indicates a bad download or the install of a newer version over the top of an older one.

This error is because of a bug in a mod included in RoM, World of Civilization, and the fact that it does not support having the game in non Program File locations. I've fixed the bug in RAND, a expansion of RoM, so I suggest trying that.
