Error when loading

Load XML file Assets//XML\GameInfo/CIV4PlayerOptionInfos.xml FAILED

I get this problem during the loading screen when I open the game from my desktop, game crashes. Any help? plllzzzzzzz

now i installed they new patch 1.61 or w/e and i get a new error when loading from desktop. It says that python has failed initalizing, any input?

I thought it is possible to click through python errors? Maybe not through a failure to initialize...

Make sure to clear the cache, perhaps there's some junk stored there. The cache directory is somewhere here: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\My Games\Civ4\cache

If this won't help, please give us the exact text of the error message.

I can not find the cache, ive looked were you said, i have not an application data folder in my c:\documents and settings\<username> folder. I have a user data fold but that has nothing to do with what im trying to do. Ive also check the my docs locations and my program files locations of civ 4 and have found nothing. Ive also searched windows.

Try using the search function and typing in "failed initializing python" as you reported. Perhaps that will bring up something.

What are your computer's specifications and what kind of graphics card are you running? That info may help us figure out the problem.

Also, you should have the data folders mentioned above in your "my documents" folder under "my games". If they are not there, then you need to uninstall what you have, reinstall and apply the 1.61 patch.

ahhhh reinstaling is the problem, i havent played in months, and i now have a hankering for some civ 4, i would reinstal but i cant find my key, the game worked fine before, I uninstalled it before, to make room. But i recently, used a quicl restore and found that I still had Civ 4 and all its file back. But as you can see it doesnt work.....

I have a dell Dimension 2200 Celeron 1.3 256 mb ram and a GeForce 4 64 MB card. cutting it close i know, but it ran fine on smaller maps before. I cant wait to get a new buy a new comp

You'll have to contact 2kgames with proof that you own the disks. Nothing we can do to help you with that. Sorry.

bah i dont think telling them what the cds lookslike, and whats on the tech poster is proof. Thanks for the help
