At the risk of sounding a bit thick, I need to know how this is done. I play vanilla civ III and have recently moved up to Regent and won after a couple of abortive attempts. When I bought civ III it came with PTW, but no manual or anything, so although most of it is fairly straightforward, I haven't figured out the embassy bit yet, and there is probably a whole load of stuff I could be doing more effectively. Also I've been trying to get hold of a strategy guide for ages (figuring it would have all the relevant info) but evidently it's out of print and I can't get hold of one on or off-line. Having said that I've found the site very useful in terms of strategy tips etc, so cheers for that.

You can build embassies by clicking on the star symbol next to your capital city. There is also a shortcut key but I don't know what it is. I'm sure someone else knows.

There is no need to waste money on a strategy guide. The best tips you can find are in the CFC War Academy.

The guides are junk, I have them for completeness, not information. Go to the pedia icon and select game concepts. Select E and read Embassy. It tells you how to establish one.

Cheers for the info, although after telling me that my order wasn't available Barnes & Noble have now shipped the guide to me. I'd tell them to stop, but having been waiting so long I feel I owe it to the poor book.

It doesn't hurt having a hardcopy strategy guide. I have one for vanilla CivIII and I browse through it. I also keep my CivIII instruction manual on my desk at work and when I get to thinking about a Civ topic, I'll look it up and find out what I need to know. Having a hardcopy strategy guide can also be good for that.
