Events Showing Up As "TXT"

Hey fellas;

I've been working on a simple mod (basically just a few custom leaderheads/text/civilopedia entries for a game with friends) and have run across an interesting problem; though I've managed to get all the "TXT" stuff working, I am now receiving events with the "TXT_FAUX_PAS" format rather than the actual text (IE "A faux pas has been committed by an ambassador in the Spanish capital...").

This is strange to me, because I haven't touched the event files at all.

Help?

Hey fellas; It looks like it's actually happening on all games, not just my mod.

Any insights?

It sounds like you might've deleted CIV4GameText_Events_BTS from the XML files.

Yeah, I think what happened was I moved it to my mod folder instead of copying/pasting, and when I moved it back I had already removed everything (just needed the formatting for an XML text)

Anyone have the file Events file, or am I really going to have to reinstall?

I usually don't look at the vanilla files themselves. Instead I made a copy I keep elsewhere where I look at it and copy from. That will prevent accidents like this one.

That's a brilliant idea and I'll be sure to do that.

Thanks for the file.

After a bit of a hiatus from civ I've just gone and inserted this file and found it wasn't the one I was actually missing. I mistook it for the event triggers file.

Could anyone upload this please?

Once again requesting someone upload the following:
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Assets\XML\Text

Would greatly appreciate it, I've been playing Civ without being able to read events/quests etc for the past three months.

The entire text folder? o.o

In the future, you should really, really just copy-pasta the source files into your mod folder before you start editing stuff..... not that many people browse the forums (or play) civ4 anymore (....... it IS 9 year old legacy game :p)

Or you could always save your mod and re-download (the entire game) off steam :)

Here you go.
