i think having events in scenarios would be great. they could have conditions like xxxx culture in one city or a combination of techs and improvments... the events could do a number of things... increase gpt, reduce corruption, imunity to spying, reduced culture flips, more cuture per turn per city....

events could be a nice addition to historic scenarios.

Good idea! :goodjob:
That's more realistic than the other event-ideas, like atomic mutants or UFOs :). Getting one-time boosts is really historical accurate (and that's what I would like to see in civ).

What would an event be - something you can make happen yourself, or just random stuff scattered throughout the game?

The idea of having events triggered by a combination of conditions is one I support. The more intelligent and random these events could be the better. One of the goals of an ifinitely replayable game such as the civilization series should be to give a unique feeling each time out.

i feel the events should be reserved for the editor and the scenarios, to add historical factors or to better simulate certin conditions... example: in a napolionic campaign, at a certin date there could be an event splash screen and then Prussia would recieve xx units in yy places on the map.
