I just played a game as the Balseraphs <sp?>

What can I say- unique and fun at the start!

But as the middlegame settled in- there are no high level UUs, and the clown theme disappeared with standard swordsmen/archers/pikemen etc. After I switched to the Order to get the UUs and try to build up an offensive, I ended up with a culture win before I could build up to attacking. That seems to be what this civ is designed for after all.

I really liked Loki, but once a city has an obelisk, he's fairly useless except to get a tiny edge in the culture battle. I was thinking something along the lines of as certain technologies are researched his ability could get more powerful, but don't know how difficult that would be to implement since he does not level up in the standard way.

I don't know what else could further continue the theme. Maybe replace archers with jugglers? things like that.

Just throwing a few thoughts out there!

ya, more UU's is always a good thing

one thing that was mentioned before, would be to give him an +% to culture, so he maintains use later on (could have such, i dont know)

but also, hes useful for putting in enemy cities to cause riots and convert them to your side

Of course they aren't particularly flavorful when you play the Order. Now, if you really want to go cultural, follow the Octopus Overlords. Having Drown and Stygian Guards isn't too bad a deal, either.

the balseraph will for sure get many more freaked out UUs, dont fear, but its simply a matter of time, as i want to set and maintain a new quality standard with the art stuff that goes in (from me) ;)

Haven't really tried out the OO yet. So far, only Runes for the gold and Order for the free units!

I'm definitely looking forward to it! This looks like it will definitely be my favorite civ once it's fleshed out :)

They are already mine :)
Druids with mind and chaos mana are really fun and to have an army of slaves improve your land before you put them in the freak show is also very nice.

I should note that although there are few LV 4 UUs (Courtesan being the sole exception), taking Taskmasters and Harlequin, and promoting them can result in more powerful LV 4 units than standard.

I found Loki to primarily be useful to distract the AI; If I send him right next to a large stack, the stack will with some frequency go after Loki instead of doing something useful.

I agree, though, that both Loki and Gypsy Wagons should increase in power (maybe double the effect with a mid-late-game tech). This is particularly important for Gypsy Wagons, since the AI is good at destroying them, if/when they obtain Hidden Nationality Units (like summoned Tigers)

OK maybe requesting UU was not the proper term! Just hoping that the higher level units will continue the theme. This mod is so well done, it is easy to forget it is still a work in progress :D
