I expect the same as the second and third edition of Civ. I expect to see two, the first one adding just content (civs, techs, units, buildings), and the second one adding a new gameplay element or style.

Can anyone say "Civilization IV: RPG?"

I can see more than three. Let's examine what they have produced for us, this far. They have given us a game that we can heavily modify. With the last patch, they gave us the ability to modify the game itself. I can't see them ignoring the mods and things we have put together. I can see them integrating some of our better ideas into the game.

I think we'll see this one expand for awhile, a'la the Sims game.

I just hope that they have finalized the xml stuff they gave us, since that seemed to break a lot of mods just after the patch came out.

My guess is that there will be only 2 Expansions. Because now after they released the SDK pack and there will be a ton of great mods that will add so much to the game that future Expansion packs will look kinda weak in comparison. Why pay out money when you can get it for free??

Yes that's true, but they are the professionals and do mostly better than us. And most modders aren't able to make something new like a whole new vassal states system with techs and all, at least I haven't seen mayor new concepts like that. Mostly they make a new civ or a new unit but not entire new game concepts.

I'll guess two. It seems to be a common for games to have two expansion packs unless its for The Sims.

2 Expansions I'm pretty sure. Same for Civ3, and most other games too that are successful.
