Favourite Civilization?

I mostly use expansionist civs on large/huge maps to find as many goody huts I can find except on Sid level, GH won't give us any greater value.

And you get to start with alphabet, so the philosophy slingshot is doable even on deity level...

I like to random my civs.

My favorites would be any one of these three Iroquois, Netherlands, .... then English.

They have quite a bit in common.

I have no particular favorite, but I do prefer Commercial to most other civs. I really like having that extra bit of late game money.

All civs have their strengths and weaknesses, but I personally like Rome, Japan, China, and Ottomans. Legionaries, are, well, awsome; samurias are like Legionaries (equal attack and defense) with an added movement point, and the Rider and Siphai are the two best mounted units in the game.

Dutch come out in front with Byzatines and France tied for second. Seafaring is definitely my favorite trait, and I find it works great with Scientific. As for France I find their traits very complementary.

Lately, though, Japan is really growing on me. I think they are very powerful, and extremely versatile.

I like the Germans the best because historically they have prodigious science, art, military, and entreprenuerical achievements.

I love the Celts. The Iroquois have even better traits, but the Celts have more historical appeal to me.

I go for China, cause it's the only Civ I can play with, without getting to the bottom of the score list. Besides, you gotta love the industrious and militaristic bonuses!

I don't think I've played enough to know which my favourite is.
I like the Greek though, I've won twice with them.

I don't have any favorite because of traits or UU, but I love the med civ -- come on -- Rome, Greece, Cathage, Egypt -- they are SO COOL!
