Hello,
I have tried to install CIV 4 several times, but everytime I get to the end I get an error that says:

FEATURE TRANSFER ERROR
FEATURE: C++ RUNTIME LIBRARY 7.1
COMPONENT:
FILE:
ERROR: INCORRECT FUNCTION

After I get this error the installation stops and there are no files installed on my computer, except for the file folder that installshield sets up to put the files into.

I'm running XP Pro on a Dell machine with a 2.6 Pentium 4 processor and 512 Ram. I have a NVIDEA GeForce 2600 graphics card and a soundblaster card. the people at the tech support couldn't seem to figure it out and were going to send me a e-mail with common fixes, but it hasn't arrived yet.

I'm not super tech savvy but it would seem that something is conficting during the install so it can't process something to let it finish. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Best,
Chris

Same problem here. I upgraded from Windows 2000 to Windows XP SP2. I also have the Windows firewall turned off (using Kerio Personal Firewall instead). And I am installing to a custom directory. Those are the three obvious things that stand out.

Workaround: Rename the directory and then move it before closing the error message and run it from the new location. Note that Disc1 is the actual play disk (some are mislabeled).
