C:\Documents and Settings\*****\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4

The shortcut assumes that the program is in the default english install location.

You will probably want to do properties on it, the startup line is normally ""C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Civilization4.exe" mod=\Fall from Heaven 2 015" but when you search for the exe it probably knocks off that "mod=\Fall from Heaven 2 015" part (which is the important part. Put it back on and you should be good to go.

I have problem with my civ/ffh startup, well it works but it takes deam long time progressing up the game.
What can i do???

Not much. During that time Civ4 is copying the mod into the cache directory. Just part fo the startup process. Since FfH is so big it takes a while.

The only fix I've found is transferring your mod folders into the My Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civ 4/MODS directory. The trick is, every time you download a patch or a new version, you have to remember to change the path, so that it ends up in the right place. If you forget, you'll get misplaced patches, and as such, you'll end up reporting bugs that aren't from the current version.

Elaborate?

Elaborate on what?

The process for moving the file?

Take your current mod folder, located most probably in Progarm Files/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization IV/Mods, and move it into the My Documents/My Games/Sid Meiers Civilization IV/MODS directory.

Or the results of the weird patches?

Simply put, the default directory for all the mod installers and patch installers is the aforementioned Progarm Files/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization IV/Mods, but if your game is located in the My Documents/My Games/Sid Meiers Civilization IV/MODS directory, you have to make sure that, when the installers ask you where you want to install, that you tell it to install into My Documents/My Games/Sid Meiers Civilization IV/MODS, instead of Progarm Files/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization IV/Mods.

I concur, I used to have the mod in the My Documents/My Game/Sid Meier's Civ 4/Mod directory (which already exists, it is created when you install Civ 4), and it loaded much faster. I since had to reinstall windows, I put the mod in the game directory, and it now takes much longer to load.

Note : there is a shortcut in your Civ 4 directory, called Custom Mods, which sends you straight to the My Documents/.../Mod directory.

Wow! :goodjob:

Putting the mod in "My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\MODS"
loads the mod almost INSTANTLY for me! Whereas before it took 1minute+ for the loading screen to even show up!

I used to do that all the time, but it screws up some of the art files.

It does seem to mess with the art, why? Would putting some files in the civ folder and others in my documents folder work?

Its because Firaxis doesn't always check in the my games directory for resources. It used to not even load the dll from there but Talchas reported it to them and they got it fixed before 1.61 released.

1.61 of Civ 4 has been out for a month or so.
