So I bought Civ 4 BTS from D2D, and most everything works fine. But two small things have been bothering me. One, I can't seem to trade with anyone. Do they need some kind of building (a renamed harbor maybe?) in order to trade? I've used the world editor to test as many things as I can think of, but can't seem to get that to work.

Second thing is, my star systems keep asking to join other civs, even though I'm leading on just about everything. I've got almost 1000 more points then anyone else. It didn't do this the first time around I played. Kinda odd.

Yes, I patched with the D2D patch and it didn't help any. (3.17) I've looked around as many forums as I could and didn't find anything on this. :[

Oh and one other thing. Is there any way to edit the units? I'd love to make destroyers a bit stronger so they don't get pwned by PDSs in open space (It's kinda silly).

For trade you need warp/jump lanes with the other civs (as far as I know), I have rarely traded anyother thing than techs (only when they come with a good deal)

That has happened to me when my colonies are pretty close to the other civ's homeworld.
How close are your colonies to your homeworld?, are they communicated with warp/jump lanes to your empire?

Yes, it is called XML, if you venture into this here is the golden rule: DO NOT EDIT FINAL FRONTIER FILES, make a copy of FF, place it in your MyDocuments/CivBtS/MODS folder, and mod these files.
The file you are looking for: <Your FF copy>/Assets/XML/FFUnitInfos.xml (or something like this)

Yes I've got warp lanes and everything. I wanted to know if I could trade, let's say iron, for 1 credit per turn. No matter what I try it won't let me do anything like that with any other civ.

They're close to my home world and sometimes New Earth itself asks to flip. It's a huge map so the closest Capital starsystem is about 50 squares away.

Thanks for the info on the XML. I'll try that. :]

I'm not aware of any mechanism for trade within FF but it is something i want to add into our B5 mod. Keep your eyes open for any updates on the B5 mod. Who knows! we may release a separate trade module for FF if we can get it working for the B5 mod,
