anyone else having problems with the latest version of Firefox?

it updated a few days ago, and ever since then mine's been acting finnicky... not closing properly, getting hung up and then crashing.

=\

Nope. Working just fine.

Try running it in safe mode and see if the same happens. Its most likely a plugin or extension that has issues with the update.

When I first updated the extensions didn't update properly. I had to uninstall and reinstall a couple. But after that i haven't had a problem.

I've never done an uninstall/reinstall w/ Firefox before... I assume it saves all my settings and bookmarks, etcetera?

reinstalling the extensions doesn't require reinstalling the whole program. so you don't need to save anything. However, under the bookmarks menu there's an entry for 'organize bookmarks' that will allow you to save a file of them. For the add-ons, go to Tools > Add-ons and you can uninstall each of them and then add them back the way you got them originally. Which may or may not solve your problem.

If you have Norton, and its installed it's FF extension then the last update that was pushed out by Symantec will cause FF to randomly crash, therefore uninstall Norton and get a different AV program, else I'd try what Cutlass says.

Did you try running Firefox in safemode? If it works fine, try disabling each addon one at a time to see what stops the crash.

I thought he meant something differenct

it seems to be better now... I think the problem yesterday turned out that I had installed a Windows Defender Update while Firefox was running, then I never rebooted..

had trouble getting the computer to shut down last night. finally got it down, rebooted a couple of times. then I did a defragment overnight.

everything seems okay today (so far)

thx for the help!

I'm stupid, remember?

Right now I feel feel prety useless. :dunno:
