Flickering Mouse Problems

Hey everyone. Well, after some re-installs, some Omega driver downloads and .INI file hocus-pocus, I've made the game pretty playable. Good frame-rates, except occasionally some slow down.

However, I now have another problem. My USB mouse keeps flickering. It's not the standard "Mouse freezes" problem, of this much I'm sure. A square appears behind the cursor, and will flicker nigh-constantly.

Does anyone else have this, or know how to stop it?

Go to "control panel" -> "mouse control" and look whether the option "display pointer trails" is checked or not. If yes, turn it off. I use the pointer trails when my mouse icon freezes again and the effect is that flickering and the little square behind the cursor. It's ok for me because it's better than a freezed mouse

Wow, thank you. Civilization 4 runs perfectly now .

I hope your (and seemingly half the forum) gets fixed though .
