Trade is corrupted, Shields are wasted but food isn't touched by corruptions
foul hand. So if you build heaps of tight packed towns with granaries and milk them for population-costs that should be a good strategy for pure military conquest games.

Do you have experience with this sort of strategy, or what do you think?

THis can be very effective if you have conquered an area far from home. ICS the conquered area and milk the cities for specialists. This is a very common strategy, especially in GOTM's.

Sounds good

Excuce me for my lack of abbrevation knowledge but what does ICS and GOTM stand for?

ICS is Infinite City Sprawl. It basically means cramming cities together as tightly as possible.

GOTM is Game of the Month. One of the subforums on this site is a Game of the Month forum; every month, they give you a save and you play it and submit a save after you've won or lost. Then you can compare how well you did to everyone else. Actually, these days there are two Games of the Month -- one for Vanilla Civ and Play the World (the save is available on the 15th of each month), and a second for Conquests (the save is available on the 1st).

Alright!
I have played Civ for more than 10 years, but I haven't played (and only heard of) the GOTM, which I'll try :)
Personally I like small maps with fast turns, lot of millitary action preferably the Warhammer mod :)
