Football Manager 2005 was released last Thursday, yet there are no threads about it here...
Why not? Hasn't anybody got it yet? Why not?
It's an improvement over previous CM games, and I especially like the interaction and relations with other managers. Sometimes its a bit rigid and you can't really say what you like, but it works okay and it's now easy to get a 20 rating on working with the media.
The highlights are slightly improved, as you'd expect. The matches themselves though, I think are a bit harder. I've only played one game, and that was basically just to get to grips with it though. I'm sure in my next game I'll be able to change that around...Cardiff for the European Cup?
Scouts and coaches are still useless. Well, scouts reveal hidden attributes, but they're recommendations are still basically rubbish. Training is still a bit of a mystery. Anybody with any good info/resources/explanations regarding it? For some players it can work wonders, but despite the bars breaking down the effects of your schedule on individual attributes (attack/defense/fitness etc.) there seems to be far too much trial and error.
I think they've changed the work permit system. I'm sure I've read that somewhere and I was able to sign Freddy Adu immediately at the beginning of my game.
Also, the opposition always scores too many 25 yarders! (For my liking anyway!).
That all probably doesn't sound too positive, but it's a great game, honestly. You should already know that, but since nobody has started a thread about it yet...
