I have a question thats been bothering me since I started playng AC. I try to play with a "Green" development plan. Few mines, farms, solar panels, lots of forests and all industry in space. But I still hate fungus as it is a potential source of danger. So I clear it in my territory as fast as I can.
Is there a critical mass of fungus such as after cutting down to say about 100 squares or fungus the AI/planet takes it as pollution and starts attacking me more severely? Or can I clear as much fungus as I like?
 
All i can say is.... good question...

Wish i knew myself... I have problems with the fungus growing every turn in some of my super terraforming games...

How much planet rating do you have? I have +1... though it should be +2, but the Manifold Nexus isn't working for some reason (because I terraformed over it?)
 
I have "Green" economics so its +2 at the moment. Is that what you asked? About level 5-6 in technologies.
 
I hit another problem yesterday, is there a way to bypass a 64 landmark limit? :)

I highly doubt it...

I'll clarify why my planet was so low in the post above.. i'm using a custom faction (Agrian, from the Networknode) which has -1 planet and can't get green... Since then i've modified the faction so that they don't get the minus 1 planet, AND can get green :mischief:
 
I use plain AC, no expansions :(....

as far as I know mind worm will atack you Randomaly as well as your oponet.
if you find a pod infested with worm they will attack you most of time .only once i found a pod -with a captured worm and was not atacked the next turn(i am talking of 5 worm) the worm are small in the begining and get stronger and bigger over time . i folow the politicmake a lot of ecological damage as soon as possiblemine on any rocky square with road and crawler sometime i even have a trance sentinel going with former or gurding a crawler. everytime you get fuguse growing in poloting area the tolerance for poluting go higher.
i normaly got at least twice sea level raising .normaly when i get closed to end level tecnology 10 or above wind worm and locust of chiron atck my colony.i try to have the best moral for solder (command nexus and cyborg Factory)i never build plane before an areospace complex .in some faction i go fundi when building soldier just for moral bonus (espcialy morgan or gaian in alpha centauri) an elite soldier get hit less and an extra movement.
Artilary is very good weapon to soften mind worm before kiling them .
so a good defence is to have a Trance sentinel, a piece of artilary, an airplain with air supuriority ,a speeder (even recon) and a choper if the city is coastal a transport and cruiser with attack or isle of the deep .kiling mind worm is a good source of energy and somtime it even promot your army (if ther are no elite yet)after i build the cyborg factory the minimum accepetable moral is veteran normaly its comondo level somtime even elite .
curently playining the spartan all unit i produce at elite level the former on speeder chasis can move 3 time( i can get inside a rocky terrain and begin to build the road in same turn) even colony pod have 2 square to move w/o road or 6 on road .

by the end of game i plant fugus (2 nut 3 mineraland 2 energy)on all square expect rainy with farm or rocky with mine or ocean square who have kelp and tidal
 
There is no penalty to removing all Xenofungus on the map (though the polluting AIs will ruin your fun by causing Xenofungal blooms all over their territories).

Of course, I like to help them along with Fungal Payload Missiles (SMAX addition).
