Size = Standart
Difficulty = Diety
Map = Fractal

All brainiacs, and especially experts welcome. I find it too eazy to defeat 8 noobs. People will be screened with BanList and latency. If you have an intrest drop ur name on here or add me to friendlist on steam -"Ermak" (the one with 1600 hrs of civ gametime played)

Attention Moderator: I am giving a preview of my experience. Ermak is posting that he hosts games, so I will show how each of the 3 I played went:

Host plays Fractal, which means strategic resources are not guaranteed near your capital (many players prefer this) and there may be 1 or multiple landmasses. Host also plays with 8 civs, meaning more lag than the more common 6 or 4 civs.

1st time: I had bad land, no iron, spawned close between 2 Civs, I stuck with it and lost. I posted in this formum about it. There was lag but we all put up with it.

2nd time: Host compained about bad land early, but I had great land. Then when game froze host was first to quit without offer to reload. In random FFAs this is typical, groups like NQ and League offer to reload. There is usually no expectation of a reload in a random game from my experience. I posted about this also in this forum.

3rd time: Host quits move 32 when my swords and spears show up at his 2nd city which he placed 6 tiles from my capital. Host did not have iron near his cities and only had a warrior with the city he placed 6 tiles from my capital. When that warrior died host said "bad lag, rehost" and quit before anybody could reply. Other players stated that host quits like this frequently. This lag in this game was better than the lag in 3x3s which I play often.

Summary: "Hogfest" is a fun concept, but the games are not NQ or league kind of games. The host choses when to scrap the game without input from other players, and this choice is heavily correlated with how the host is doing in the game.

Hello. It's Ermak. He is the most notorious quitter on the servers. I've played with him since civ 4, so I know. He is one of the reasons NQ was created.

Wow! Ermak's games have a legacy! I never played civ 4. I must have missed out on a lot of zany-ness.

You need to learn to play on any map, and Fractual guarantees randomness. If you are not the fan, you can find otehr games. I host with 8 on the weekends, and 6 on weekdays. Reloading games with 8 players is not fisable since its rare that all will rejoin, and even then the reason why it froze might persist. (0% of disconnects don't work sinc eplayers simply went OOS and cannot reconnect unless PC reboot) Yeh that 3rd game was lagging pretty bad so ur swordmen showing up, and me having no defense pretty much was the last straw (for me at least) Noone asked u to quit as well, you could have played. I just forfited.

I never 'QUIT'. I rehost if it freezes, or lags badly or some hog is being obsene. Very rarly, I get defeated so I say gg. I don't have to wait untill every singel city gets captured. And I dont quit at first sign of hard times, only after I exhausted all options. That's not a leave thats a defeat.
