Full zoom out - Global View

Is the full zoom out global perspective gone? In the video at giant bombcast it looked like the max zoom out was reduced as well as and wrapping of the map around a globe.

This would be the first real casualty of the 4 to 5 transition.

Actually I want to see it gone. My computer always lagged as it transitioned between the two views. It would be nicer to be able to zoom out and in quickly without having to go through the globe view.

Won't miss it. The "functionality" that was served by that view is now served by the strategic view, which even lets you give orders without having to switch back and forth.

My problem with globe view was that I wanted to be able to zoom out farther and still see my units. For example to give orders for a long distance unit move.

It looks like strategic view will be pretty zoomed out, but I hope live view can be the same in civ V.

As for the world warping, that was cool. But I'd rather see my units.

Global view was more of a gadget. Useful for seeing where some resources were, but that was about it. Strategic view looks far more useful.

Its been confirmed that zooming out to globe like art view of the world has been removed, you can't zoom out as far in civ5, although its maximum zoom distance is good enough to make everything to small to see :p.
