actually its not a bridge, its just liek it looks, a peir.... the AI uses rivers as trade routes, I dont think you learn about bridge building until machinery or something

I would have said that the original poster was half right. It is half a bridge. You will note that the tile that has the bridge also has a road while the tile that doesn't have half the bridge (if you know what I mean) doesn't have a road. If you road the vacant tile, it will get its own half a bridge.

Not until you have Bridge building, and then it will be a completely different graphic- a grey-white bridge.

That thing is a pier. It connects the roaded tile to the river, which functions as a trade route. It's for the imaginary boats that shimmy up and down the river simulating it's functin as said trade route.

actually, it does have a road, it's just hard to see because the green moss from the floodplain is covering it

no, their is no brisge building its called construction. But if they can build a pier which goes halfway across a river, why don't they build one on the other side and link them up?
