Future technologies

i think ive been up to future technology 100 before.. didnt know it adds to score. how cool!

I never care for a score, so whenever I get to future tech, I swap it to money or lux.

I totally agree. I stop the research and change to luxury so that with democracy I can build an army and not get my peoples in an uproar.
Ive never seen that future tech causes random pollution. thats actually really legit. Its sad actually.... if you look at civ in terms of political statements the game is saying : "over population is bad and technology and energy will cause global warming. nukes are bad cuz they cause pollution, and any military will make people automatically unhappy." did i miss any other subtle or direct political statements?

There's debate over whether the Future Tech pollution issue is a bug. It doesn't happen in Chieftain level, at least not up to Future Tech ~1500.

speaking of future tech.. Ive got no science researching, no scientists in any cities, nothing visible in trade advisor showing science light bulbs but I keep getting further into my future techs. where is it coming from?

Caravans are only temporary measures, it can't help win science competition with othe civilisations.

Incorrect. Caravans generate science as well as revenue. Caravans are the most viable end-game strategy when it comes to resources (shields) if you are playing for score, so they are permanently useful.

If you hope to win the science race, it's best to use caravans. Rest assured your opponents are using them.
