Game crashes year 2013 at end turn

The game crashed when I clicked end turn.

I went back to a previous save, 2009, and it played fine until I hit end turn at 2013.

I unisintalled and reinstalled the entire game. Still crashes at 2013 end turn.

I had the same problem with another BTS game, crashing at about year 2000.

Any ideas?

I was unable to get it to crash. Are you using any mods?

no, not using mods

i turned on the auto-turn, and it went to 2015, but then crashed

Also--I noticed that immediately before the game crashes, the globe begins to spin, but the "waiting for other civilizaitons" text does not appear.

It's probably at that point that the game becomes too large for you computer to handle. I had the same problem in vanilla Civ IV whenever I saw a wonder video (I did turn them off, but really missed them). Try adjusting the Graphics options so that they use less memory (simple textures, no animation, etc.). You'll miss the effects, but since your problem happens so late in the game, you can at least have the effects on for most of it, just turn some off when you get close to 2000.
