Game set up for corporations

I haven't had a game that has really had a lot of activity with corporations. Mostly they end too early and I just get them started but don't get a lot of corporate competition with other civs. My most recent game was a conquest victory so I needed State Property. I'll play the Next War scenario next because I heard somewhere corporation are quite useful in it.
If that doesn't work I'm going to try starting a game that I'll try and set up to make the most of corporations. I'll start at the renaissance and at epic speed so it will be about the same total length but more time in the era just before and during corporations. I'll play as the Holy Roman Empire to get the Rathaus to reduce cost. I'll play with unrestricted leaders so I can pick someone with Philosophical to make getting great people easier. I think Frederick would be best since he also has Organized which should give me the cheapest upkeep possible, and no other Philosophical leader has any other trait that seems like it would help for my purpose. I'm not sure if there is a way to make sure the map fits my plan other than some maps would limit the availability of resources for Sid's Sushi if it lacked water (and for some reason single island maps don't have much seafood) and Cereal Mills without plains/grasslands, and maybe Civilized Jewelers without hills. If I pick a 'standard' mapscript that doesn't emphasize any specific feature I should get enough of all of them. I was going to play Aggressive AI from now on, but I'm wondering if it would make getting resources harder, but if I just play assuming I'm going to get attacked I should be fine.

So can anyone find fault with anything I have planned out here or has a suggestion for something I haven't thought of?

By the way, is the Crossroads of the World scenario any good? I know it uses trade guilds (corporations) but would anyone recommend it?
