Hi I've finally got Civilization IV to work today, by going back to one of the most stable drivers released by Nvidia: the 43.45.
Before using that I had every graphics bug in the book. Dark terrain, chesire faces, f*cked up textures, and blue screens of death in the nv_disp.dll
So if you like me have an older Geforce card, try using the last drivers for that generation.
My setup is:
Dual Athlon 1800+
1.5GB ram
MSI Geforce4 Ti4200
