So I was well into a game with Carthage and testing its new abilities etc., when I captured and puppeted Honolulu. Not long after I finished the Duomo and selected a scientist, but for some strange reason he appeared in Honolulu at which point I noticed that Honolulu was now my capital, not Carthage.

I never lost Carthage and Honolulu is a genuine puppet, not even occupied, but I can confirm it does possess the Capital building/wonder and Carthage does not.

Screenshots are attached and in the log, which I had running so figured I'd throw in as well, you can see I puppet Honolulu at 3170. I have no idea what to look for or what this runtime error is all about.

In the meantime I've swapped the capital back to Carthage using IGE. Shortly I'll be taking Japan's capital and I'll be interested to see if the same thing happens as with Honolulu.

PS I'm not saying this is exclusive to Carthage, but I played a game with Beta 2 as the Egyptians and it never happened.

Well, I played the rest of that game and got a domination victory and the capital stayed in Carthage.

So, assuming this was just a freak occurrence, my suggestion if it happens to anyone is have a copy of IGE (ingame editor) handy, save and exit, then load it with the other mods, and simply remove the capital building from whatever city it wrongly went to and put it back in the proper capital.

It happened again, this time with the Huns. A lot of my trade routes were suddenly broken and I tried to see why until I realised Pasargadae had been made my capital (that was Persia's last capital before I wiped them out).

I got the same bug (with the latest alpha), playing as Carthage. It had been a long marathon game, I was just beginning to pull ahead and finally conquered the Maya capital Palenque. My capital switched from Carthage on the coast to Palenque in the middle of the jungle and would not switch back, so I had to end the game. Annoying! I tried to open the fire-editor SDK thingy to fix the problem but I was not able to work it out. I think I will need to go back to the last stable version.

iGE should work fine for fixing it. But figuring out why it does this at all...? Not sure what's going on myself. Maybe they have higher culture when captured (I assume that's how the game assigns capitals when one is lost). Sounds like a check for who does the capturing is missing.
