Fall from heaven currently uses the same generic combat system as vanilla civ. But each civilisation is unique, and doesn't support the balanced, yet broad system of checks and balances as the regular game. At least not in the same way. I propose that fall from heaven needs a revamped/new system of combat.

Any ideas?
 
If we won't get full tactical combat (and we won't), might as well stick with the old one.
 
Even more, before proposing something like that, we should all remember that this is a locked features phase, so, we propably should forget about this. :sad:
 
the current combat system does not work well with magic.
a unit takes more, less or no damage from a spell, and other effects get the shaft.

it leaves far too few options open on variety.

civs previous method of each unit having 1-3 counters and countering 1-3 other units also doesn't play out very well. Each person is encouraged to devote all their resources into a single tech tree, stifling tactical diversity
