Hello! My apologies if this has already posted, but I could not any reference to it in the forum. I seem to have discovered a bug that lets you take over all of another civ's cities (short of the capital city) through diplomacy. Here's how to recreate the situation:
- Go to war with another civ (it doesn't seem to matter which side declares war).
- Fight the war for a while until they will talk to you again.
- When they will talk to you again, you will be able to negotiate a peace treaty. In addition to the peace treaty, select all the civ's cities and click "What do you want for this".
- A dialogue box stating something to the effect that only one side can make concessions is displayed. Click on "OK".
- Click on "We accept your offer".
You are now given all the civ's cities, short of the their capital. What's better, since you did it peacefully, you keep all city improvements and have no civil unrest in those cities. In fact, most of the cities I got through this method went to "We love the President day" the very next turn.
