Getting correct start positions in worldbuilder

Hi everyone,

I am using civ5 worldbuilder with the newest civ5 and I cannot get my civs to start in their designated positions. I've created starting cities using the map editor tool and designated start positions for each civ using the edit plot tab. It does not seem to be applying the name I created for the city either.

The game terms look correct when I load the map in civ, although it defaults back to 4000BC when I selected a 4500BC start. Does anyone have an idea how to correct this? It sounds like an easy fix. I sure spent a lot of time on this and would like to play this soon on marathon. Thanks

I don't know what post a poll means.

Sounds like you are not going through the MODS menu to get to the modded-games Set-Up New Game menu.

You have to
  1. Go through the mods menu
  2. Click NEXT at the mods menu (lower-right corner of mods menu)
  3. Keep going forward through Single Player, Start New Game to get to the set-up menu.
  4. Select your pre-made map as the map to use
  5. click the little 'Load Scenario' button. After this is done you may have to re-make your choice of civilization to use.
  6. Click 'Begin Scenario'*
There are no options to get around the need to go through the MODS menu. If you go through the usual Single Player menu, you can select the map as the map to use, but you will never get the option to 'Load Scenario' and all starting locations will be picked by the game based on best-starting-spots it can find on the map.

* it may be called 'Start Scenario' : been a while since I did it.

That's it. Thanks

I usually just read these forums and think about how cool it would be to mod. I may have to dedicate more time and do more civ nerd stuff.
