It's not a completed game but one with a powerful adversary. You can come to your own ending. If you play please comment win or lose.

Year - 1850AD
Government - Democratic
Game Level - King
Researching - Labor Union

Your people have subdued your neighbors on the home island and have spent their time in isolation building wonders and doing research. You are not straddled with any peace treaties, and are at war with the Babylonians and Mongols.

The Mongols have armor!

The Babylonians are going to build a spaceship and fly away!

I'm having a lot of fun playing this one. He didn't mention that you have about 4,500 gold in your treasury!

So, I'm currently fighting a two front war. I'm going after the Mongols with a couple dozen bombers that I mostly bought. That's going well so far. Then I built a couple battleships and went after the two cities on the eastern edge of the Babylon empire. That's not going so well, as they keep retaking the cities. It's been a fair amount of back and forth, and I can only put up one more good wave. After that, I'll have to wait for the Mongol war to die down and send the bombers to help out. The good news is that it has slowed their progress on their spaceship considerably. I'm pretty sure that even if I lose my beach head with the two eastern cities, I'll have enough time to regroup, finish the Mongols and then take Babylon before the spaceship gets sent.

It is a fun game! Thanks for posting!

TopAlwaysDown,
Thanks for the comments. Why don't you upload the MAP & SVE file so we can look at your progress.

Let them launch their spaceship!
First take a town near the capital, let them launch, take their capital. By doing that they'll lose their spaceship and probably will never build a new one. :D

Spaceships are destroyed if the owning civilization's capital is captured. This happens regardless of whether or not the spaceship has been launched.

probably will never build a new one

probably - that's the key word. If they have been significantly weaken and you can put enough stress on them, then they won't otherwise the will.

What is gained by not hitting it directly?

Here is my game. It's at 1875. I just took the capitol of the Babylonians, but they have several cities all around it that are pumping out the armor and artillery. The Mongols are not wiped off the map, but only have 2 cities with populations of about 4.

I thought this was the turning point, and I kept playing. But ten turns later and the Babylonians took back all their cities! And even before they took back the Capitol, they had already started work on a second spaceship, although progress was naturally much slower.

I'm going to restart play from 1875. I think I might have lightened up after I sacked their capitol.

Oh, and during the 10 years when I was holding onto the Babylonian Capitol, the French started being a pain in the butt. They are sending armor after my cities, and I take that out with Bombers easy enough, but they've built up cities all around and have fighters everywhere. So I was actually losing a bit of ground on that front as well. When I restart at 1875 again, I'm going to concentrate more on having solid defenses. Oh, and I have got to get City Walls for the Babylonian capitol. When I took it the population was about 18, but by the time they took it back it was down to 3.

Having A Ball,

Steve
