I read that there might only be GOTMs for Civ 3 in the news but why would you do that. There will always be a lot of people who still play Civ 2 or who can't play Civ 3 on their computer so why wouldn't you keep a GOTM for Civ 2 (along with a Civ 3 GOTM)? There are still people who play Civ 1 although Civ 2 is out for about 6 years now. BTW, why isn't there a GOTM for Civ 1?

There isn't a GOTM for Civ1 because there won't be enough gusto for it: there won't be enough players to make it fun enough.

And there will still be a GOTM for Civ2; also if Civ3 is out. But if for Civ2 there is also too little gusto, I will stop it. I'm not gonna keep up a GOTM just for a handful of people. We'll just see how it goes...

Furthermore: this discussion has been made in this topic already.

And this is my 800th post! [dance]

it will depend on interest. If only 3 or 4 people keep playin..well.

We can always have our own unofficial games of the month :)

Count me in. I'll be playing Civ II for a long time to come, no matter how Civ III turns out. I'll play Civ III also, I'm sure... but my plans are not to scrap Civ II in any event. ;)

If I "read" the look of Civ III right, it looks like certain Civ II variants, notably the OCC, will not be practical.
