This is one of those great optional things that I would like for you to take advantage of in advance of the Gotm20 game if you are so inclined.

UtahJazz7 continues to provide use with excellent additional support to make sure that we can provide a fully functional game experience to all players in Civ3v1.29 on the PC and MAC as well as in PTW.

Utah's latest contribution is a full animated leadhead graphics set that can be used in your games to replace the static coat of arms leaderhead that has been previously downloaded to you in your game packs. Because these files are large, I want you to download them on your own if you would choose to do so and we will make sure that the Gotm20-Spain game is configured to accept the graphics and make them active for you to see.

When you download all the animations files, just place them in a folder on your harddrive and I will make sure that the Readme.txt file for the actual game will give you a list of the actual filenaming that you need to rename the files to in order for the game to work.

You can download the pieces of the Leaderhead animation for this thread:

(and make sure to give UtahJazz our thanks for all his great work!!)

I have loaded the pictures in GOTM-19 and modified the pediaicons.txt but I still have the coat of arms. I must be missing something.

The way Firaxis has implemented the Civilizations and Leaderheads inside the game is actually quite confusing and shows some evidence of two or three different people doing different things in different ways without communicating back to the central objectives.

Some parts of implementing a Civ/Leaderhead are hard coded into the software version, other parts are locked in inside the save file or xxxx.bic/xxxx.bix for the game, a third part is controlled by the file pointers in the pediaicons.txt file.

I will have instruction for you to implement the optional leaderhead included in the readme.txt file in your game pack that will be downloadable next week. We will do this in a way that lets you uses your choice of the Coat-of-Arms or the Leaderhead in ths Civ3v1.29 versions of the game.

Thanks for the answer. I was trying to be too clever :( and it did not work. I will wait for your readme.txt setup :)

I just downloaded the instructions for GOTM 20. and I did not see any changes to the pediaicons.txt files linked to leader-heads.

Do we need specific changes for this ?

We will fix you here with a few short file renaming instructions.

Remember that in this game youe will be playing AS the Spanish, so some of the leaderhead images will not be used in this specific game by definition of the process.
