Graphic Cards

Does you who use Radeon cards notice any diffrence in the 2D versus the cards from Nvida when you play civ (any ver.) or in windows??

I have just came to Singapore from Jakarta.In Jakarta I got 32 mb Nvida GeForce 2 MX.In SIngapore I got 32 mb radeon DDR.I really got that frustrating problems in Civ III using Nvidia,but by using Radeon the graphic looked so smooth as silk....

I am using an NVidia 64MB MX200 graphics card, and haven't noticed any performance issues at all either before or after the patch. I suspect that the graphics card problems are more a combination of the PC and graphics card - I have a brand new P4 1.7GHz machine with 512 MB of RAM, and suspect that may be balancing out any problems the card may be giving.

I have also played the game on a PII machine without a 3D card, and got very slow scrolling on that machine, hence why I think the spec of machine has a lot to do with the graphics problems.

I have a P4 1.5Ghz 512 RAM blah blah blah (good machine) and I had the slow scrolling problem with my Nvidia GeForce 2 32 MB card (which I would'nt expect) When I used the latest drivers from Nvidia (23.11) that was release 2/3 weeks ago the scrolling speed improved radically

So you did see/saw a major diffrence bettvene those cards?
Did you notice anything diffrence in windows/other programs?

Home in Norway I got a Riva TNT2 ultra, and I'm going to buy a new card, either TI200 or Radeon 8500 - you recomend the Radeon line?

Does some other have somthing to add?

Personally ATI is better in value(bang for your bucks) and they got PC Magazine recommendation.But if u r really looking for high performance graphics card choose Nvidia,there is nothing wrong with the card and i think Nvidia is excellent and Nvidia is better in 3D games,the scrolling problem was fixed only after u download the new patch (yeah I didnt download the patch)so got better idea now
