this could or might not be viewed as a problem; the only effects to the gameplay of switched graphics are an ugly advisors and diplomacy screen as well as menus.

However, the real problem is that F4 causes the game to crash and King Henry of Portugal's face in the Modern Era does this too. It might be because he's bald....

So, I've decided that if it's possible to rearrange the images. If someone might take screenshots of all the folders with artwork with the image names and images appearing, I hope to be able to switcharound the name files until everything is right again. Of course, I'll keep a backup in case things go awry.

The fact of the matter is that I know the solution to the problem and require a bit of assistance to correctly and most efficiently fix the graphics mixup.

Thanks for your help!

Ok - firstly, it might be the Bink player that is causing the crash. Try downloading the latest version of binkw32.dll - get that from www.radgametools.com (its free).

If you can isolate it to a certain image, then it should work to copy a different image over the top of it. Is it the static artwork or the dynamic image? If its the former, you could try to find the name of the offending image in the pediaicons.txt file (in the conquests\text\ folder) and change it -
Eg:
#ICON_PRTO_Henry
art\civilopedia\icons\units\x2_Henry civpedia lg.pcx
art\civilopedia\icons\units\x2_Henry civpedia sm.pcx

Change to:
art\civilopedia\icons\units\x2_Charles_V civpedia lg.pcx
art\civilopedia\icons\units\x2_Charles_V civpedia sm.pcx

If its the dynamic images, then you could try changing them in the Conquets.BIQ file using the editor - there are different .flc files specified for the leaderheads in each age - just change it so that the industrial one is used in the modern age (for example).
