that's real ugly - what's going on?? Both my PCs do the same thing - yet they have very different video cards.

Are they both too old to play this game?

Well done guys
thanks for insights and advice and I simply searched for a driver , found ATI Driver auto diagnostic tool - performed auto search download install etc
rebooted the machine
reloaded the game
and it worked

when i reloaded the game the garbled landscape was rather dramatically swept from the screen

i'll let you know if i have anymore problems . i came back to say thanks - now im gonna play!

it appears that your integrated chipset is technically below the game's minimum spec, but it may run the game on low settings (though it will probably be a bit slow). You will definitely need to upgrade your drivers as they are dated 4/21/2010. Try updating the graphics driver (note that Windows update may say the driver is up to date, but if you utilize Intel's driver update utility it should identify an appropriate driver upgrade) and report back.

I have exactly the same problem wtih my intel core i5 gma 3000 HD on dell vostro v130, which theoretically meets with min. spec. I think the drivers are the problem, they are from 2010, but i can't update them in any way. Laptop manufacturer stopped support of my model and windows claims that the drivers are up-to-date. When i try to install the newest drivers from intel page there is an error "that system is not..." etc. I was trying to work around this, but google didn't suggested me any working solution. Is there anything I can do, except buying new hardware??

The generic Intel driver for first generation core-GPUs can be downloaded here:

Apparently that's the latest version (from 20112012) for those chips. Anyone not already tried that one might give it a shot.
Although one should keep in in mind that those are provided by Intel on a "use at your own risk" basis.
