I have been playing the Celts a lot because they match my play style the most. But I have noticed a few things in a week. I have started about 15 games and finished 4. (yes i play too much  .

I tried very very hard to lvl my units yesterday and didn't get 1 MGL, but the next game i played Milteristic and got 4 during the game.

Another game I was ahead on tech but didn't get any SGL's but playing Scientific on the next game i got 3.

It is a lot harder to choose a race now. Some of it has to do with map size, but do i choose mil, Scie, Rel, or Agri? all are good choices.

The only thing i would tone down is on agriculture i would not make the granery cheaper. They already get a huge bonus if starting by a river, and irigating deserts.

I would also raise the sinkage rate for galleys on seafaring, i had 5 in a row go 8 squares across ocean. Since the computer doesn't even try this is a huge advantage.

A great game overall, i am now trying emp games again so far i am 1/2/1, I tied once when the computer got an entire continent to itself and mine had 5 civs =\ The ai is much better but it still does some silly things like using a transport to move 1 unit. and bombarding 1 city with 1 ship endlessly.

Emp lvl seems a little harder, but its mostly the tech race. As the Celts I still haven't gotten the lead and am usually 3-6 behind.

I have also not had one important resource every game. In one game Mongols had 5 units of rubber and now one else did.. this game I didn't get Iron or saltpeater

I agree that it is much harder to pick out a favorite civ. This is mostly because a lot of smaller factors have been implemented to the different attributes to make them better such as having a smaller chance to sink in sea and ocean if you are Seafaring and a higher chance to get a SGL if you are Scientific.
