So I was thinking of doing a SG in BTS. I've done only one before, and i got sidelined due to a problem. But that won't happen here. Anywho, we will be Greeks, and the variant: Win by Conquest, Domination, or Space Race. BUT after we meet everyone, we will have to declare war on everyone except for one person of our choosing. This does not mean we have to fight only after we meet everyone. Difficulty level is Monarch. Map is Fractal, Large, Temperate, and Medium. So here are 3 possible starts:

All of them look pretty good, but I like start 3 cuz of 2 cows. Looks very promising.

The third start is arguably the worst because both cows only provide +2 food together, leaving you looking for food early on (you can only farm 4 grasslands from the looks of it).

well there are 2 things that I don't like about your settings

- it's large map
- the rule about DoWing everyone. It would feel like playing CiV and I had enough thanks.

bump diff to Emperor, change to standard map and normal ruleset and we can talk .

I'm in the same general boat as vranasm ... I'd go for Emperor or Immortal, not excited about the Large map, and while I don't especially mind the DoW-ing rule I think that there's opportunity for more interesting variants.

Personally I prefer more theme-focussed games, so a cast of Ancient-Classical Age leaders with some more historical-type targets I find more appealing (also, I'd tick the 'Random Personalities' box to make diplomacy a bit less predictable). (My 2 cents )

I wouldn't mind knowing which Greek leader you intended to play either!

How long is each turn/round and how quick do you expect each to be played?

I had assumed Alexander given the war-like variant, but sometimes it's best to assume nothing!

Turn rounds are 10 turns and within 2 weeks.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been wanting to join an SG for some time now but I agree with Vranasm, Cam and Yoshie on the map size. Don't really have a problem with the warring. If you guys are willing to get a SG noob on board, I'm in though.

I would also like to add that I prefer the first start, Fish, Pig and lots of hills for production looks good for the capital.

Note on difficulty, I play on Prince, usually, but am quite happy to play on the higher level, as long as you guys know what you are getting in to!

I don't think that CivRulesAll is willing to continue this. If he did, it would have been my first SG as well
