hi, i just have two questions which i hope you can help me with:

1) is there a hotkey or if not any way of toggling grid lines on and off the map so that i can more effectively place cities

2) how do i turn off the governer from starting in every city because at the moment it comes everytime i start a new game and wont go unless i manually go to city view and choose a different tile to be worked! (and 'capital governer is default for new cities' box in preferences is unchecked if that makes any difference)

thanks for any help, if youd like me to explain myself more clearly then just say (its 3:15 am here :crazyeye: )

Control-G toggles the grid lines on/off. What really sucks is that no matter what you toggle it to, they'll be turned off the next game you play.

As for turning off the governor, I don't know, my governors are off by default and I've never wanted to turn them on so I am not sure how to do it. I think it's something in the preferences menu, if not then maybe right-clicking a city and contacting the governor might bring something up you can use.

If you have the option set for the governor to manage happiness in the city, then the governor will choose which tiles are being worked. I don't recall if this is on by default, but you can disable it by seleting "no" and applying it to "all cities". If you also check the "default" box, this should make it the standard from there on out.

Hope this helps

switching the governor off (if it was set for all cities) is somtimes buggy. Just reload, it usually helps!
