Someone from my ISP is coming to look at the cable modem this afternoon to see if it needs to be repaired or replaced - to address the recent outages. So the server may be down for a short while they investigate. I will keep you all posted.

No - the pitboss and civstat applications have been fine (apart from the one crash on oct 26th). The biggest problem has been instability on my internet connection. I have other computers on the network that lose connectivity at the same time (but can still connect to the pitboss server over the local network) so I know it's not a problem specific to pitboss.
Anyway, the engineer came this afternoon and found a problem with the cabling that was reducing the signal to about 17% of it's normal strength, which appears likely to have been causing most of the outages. That's fixed now, and they also replaced the modem, just in case, so it should be a lot more stable now. (It also more than doubled the upload and download speeds).
Everything is now back up and appears to be working well. Let me know if there are any further problems.

oyzar, sometimes I just don't understand you. Last night I played 2 turns in a row (maybe for the first time in the whole game) as you complained I hadn't played the night before. I'm not involved in any ongoing war, at least not that I know of.
And while we're at it, if you could find some other player to replace me for the rest of this game, I'd gladly accept.

My understanding was that C63 only needed me to cover him Friday and Saturday. MY goal is to allow HIM to play as many of HIS turns as possible, not to save a few hours here or there.

What do you mean? I am fine with you not playing the night before as you explained it... I was just curious. I am guessing dv's units aren't just for show and as such we'll probably be in war soon. As i said it probably won't matter, but it is good to keep turn order so we don't get up in any weird situations later on...
Talk to me on msn, i am sure we'll be able to clear up any misunderstandings...

From civstats, it looks like you were able to get in on the second try and played (and ended) your turn. Everything resolved now?

I am getting the same thing, on both the GK game and the oobs 4th game (both hosted by Munro now). So looks like some issue at his end.

Sorry - back up now. Issue was that I saved the game from the pitboss host, and forgot to click the 'ok' button to dismiss the 'game saved' message on the pitboss host.
I didn't know it, but apparently that freezes the game.

C63 is away, and I had some internet problems earlier ... us going first is fine with me, if it is with you guys ... provided you didn't just make some move that changes my mind (doubtful ... )
