I've been so thankful since AOL finally introduced a popup stoppper for the AOL browser. I now feel secure while browsing AOL websites because before, popups would come up and I'd have to close them, which annoyed me. It kept me from sites that were infested by them.

With it on, I can laugh and watch the popups mount but never load up.

Haha! I scrolled through an ezboard.com board and I got twenty popups all blocked...

How do you do that? We've got 8.0 at home, but I always use IE to browse. I don't like the way AOL navigates. . . in any event, I do use the pop-up blocker from http://www.trisoft-tech.cz/. It's free, and works okay, once you get used to it. But I'd like to know how the AOL popup blocker works.

You have to go to an AOL site (I can't provide the keyword, sorry) and download it. After that it appears in the lower corner (like it shows) and you can adjust the settings. You can allow popups from certain sites, play sounds, or disable the popup stopper.

I'm finally glad that AOL decided to take a stand against it and introduce a popup blocker for its browser. They're browser is incompatible with a lot of popup stoppers...

I would like to use IE when on AOL, but I can't :( My parents have stringent controls (mature teen) and that interferes with opening up an IE window :(

If you want a popup blocker, just use Netscape/Mozilla, has one built-in, and it's much nicer than the aol browser. ;)

Still, just the fact that the AOL would finally build and release a popup blocker is great. There was always the big problem of popups before. If I was typing while they loaded they would go all awry off the screen, screwing me up. :( But now it's even better!

Turner I found it, it's aol keyword: Pop-Up Controls

Hmmm...from my experience, Netscape sucks and Mozilla to me is hard to understnad. Being forced to surf the web on 4.72 is incredibly bad considering that it was seven years since it was last released. I don't understand Mozilla at all.

Thanks hbd88. . . Turns out my wife already had this installed. Guess I should try browsing with AOL more often. . .
