Why is it that the Hall of fame is switched off once you modify Conquests? Like many people on this forum, I've tweaked the game to have different civs, units and resources. If it's thought that we might be "cheating" and rack up a higher score than we could in the normal game - who would be "cheating" against?

I hope that a future patch fixes this.

The idea was that the scores entered in the HOF would be comparable with each other. But you're right, it's just stupid.

If you want an incredibly high score, just make an all-mountains map. The AI will give up immediately, thus giving you a 3950 b.c. domination victory. At least, it used to work.

Thanks for the information Wilbill. I was aware how to do this, the point I was making was that I shouldn't have to.

Actually, the fact that you can edit your high scores in this way strengthens my arguement IMHO. It's a lot easier to cheat by doing this so why suppress scores in the modded games?

It's also possible that people don't want all their scores to show on the HOF, so why not have an option "Record game into HOF" in the start-up menu?

I agree completely and I hardly ever play mods. The HOF has no value other than what each of us places on it. They could even put an asterisk next to modded game scores - like Major League Baseball did with Roger Maris' home run record :) . But the scores should record.
