Hard to find resources...

Special resources are often very hard to see. Especially in fog of war. I must literally move my cursor over terrain to see if there are special resources. I remember for Civ3 there was some kind of simple mod that made special resources more colourful so they were easy to spot.
I have searched and searched all over, but I can't find it. Can someone help me out? Well, if someone made a mod, of course...

If you're looking for resources, just hit Control+R while you're playing. And if that's not doing it for you, at the bottom right of the interface you should see a button that says something to the effect of "Bare Map"... this will remove the fog of war.

I am not at home so I can't check it ingame right now. But when you hit ctrl-r do you get those symbols like you get when first dicovering a resource (after acquiring the appropriate tech)?
