Have Warlords + Patch, but mod crashes the game

Why is this? Has this happened to others? What can I do about it? I have the unzipped folder in my warlords mod folder and when in game adv-load mod-Rhye's and Fall of Civilization is clicked the game crashes...

Many have had problems with that. Check your Custom Assets folder and delete things in it. That could help.

Are you using a no-cd crack? That may cause problems too.

Does it load the menu before it crashes or does it crash when you start a game?

Well, the blue selection screen disappears and I get the Warlords image and bar showing up with my desktop in the background (normal for a mod) then I get a popup saying that Civ 4 Warlords has encountered an problem and needs to close. We apologize for the inconvience. I am using the CD, let me try that custom assets deleting.

What can I delete? I do not want to delete something necessary for the game to run...

Custom Assets has been deleted but after clicking to load the mod, I was seeing the desktop for several seconds and then this came up:

Sid Meier's Civilization 4 : Warlords has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
